About the Job Opportunity

  • Responsible for production of design documents including thorough Construction Documents everything from Space Plans to Construction Documents.

  • Work with the Job Captain and Project Manager to produce construction documents in a timely, professional and profitable manner on all projects.

  • Other responsibilities include; field verification path of travel / restroom ADA compliance, select standard tenant finishes / create finish palettes, and assist in the development of space plans, and produce 30 representations of designs.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Produce a complete set of design documents including concept Plans, Design Development, and Constructions documents.

  • Picks up redlines on Construction Documents.

  • Provides assistance in construction administration, such as preliminary processing of submittals.

  • Complete project closeout activities and participates in final project review.

  • Participates in the development of “in-house” production standards.

  • Supports and adheres to firm policies, procedures, standards and philosophies.

  • Participates in selected professional organization activities.

  • Field survey of existing conditions for project initiation.

  • General working knowledge of architectural practice with emphasis on contract administration and production control.

  • Be familiar with building codes and ADA

  • Prepares sketch up /Photoshop renderings, boards and details drawings.

  • Accuracy of each segment of work as it is completed; adherence to applicable codes.

  • Contribute to the development of design concepts

What we’re looking for in our future Junior Designer

  • Recent Graduate or 1-4 years’ experience/internship in design profession.

  • Work experience includes development and production of construction documents.

  • Basic knowledge of building materials and construction techniques.

  • Basic knowledge of structural, mechanical, electrical and acoustical engineering.

  • Basic knowledge building codes and ADA, including Restrooms and Path of Travel

  • Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD and /or Revit.

  • Design, layout, and graphic design skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of graphics and 3D software a plus.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture, design or related field.

  • Actively participate in “in–house” Knowledge Groups
