Brereton and Iwamoto Scott Architects win the AIASF Honor Award for Interior Architecture for Pinterest Headquarters! The new Pinterest headquarters in San Francisco occupies a four-story concrete structure that previously housed a John Deer factory in San Francisco’s SOMA district. The design, inspired by the redesign of the company’s web platform—clean, simple, intuitive—is centered around a dynamic central stair and expanded atrium. The jury loved the central stair, lauding the structure as a new way of thinking of the stair as destination, rather just a means to an end or something to look at. The jury mused that they would like to walk up and down those steps as much as possible
