About the Job Opportunity
This candidate would be responsible for Space Planning and Schematic Design of large projects with some involvement in smaller projects as needed. Participates in, and sometimes oversees, the design control of interiors projects in the design development, construction document and supervision phases.
Responsibilities

Evaluates project information, confers and corresponds with client representatives in conjunction with the Project Manager to determine project parameters and requirements.

Develops space planning and design concepts for project(s).

Participates directly in each project from programming through project completion.

Prepares presentation and design drawings.

Designs with a minimum of supervision.

Coordinates with design team to ensure integration of design elements.

Responsible for quality control for the space planning and interior design functions.

Assists Project Manager to establish and monitor the project design fee/budget.

Oversees interior design aspects of construction.

Gathers the technical specifications for various interior design elements.

Confers and corresponds with client representatives, as directed by Project Manager, to determine project parameters / requirements; participates in design presentations.

Constructs 3D renderings / finish boards.

Actively participates in business development and networking opportunities and in the marketing of the Company.

Participates in the development of “in-house” design standards; assures that design policies, procedures, standards and philosophies are adhered to.

Participates in professional organizations.

Demonstrate creative experience in development of design concepts, finishes and furniture; knowledge of manufacturers and sources for commercial applications.

Participates in design charrettes.
What we’re looking for in our future Senior Designer
-
10+ years’ extensive experience in all phases of interior design, including substantial and varied experience involving responsible planning and interior design of complex projects.

Substantial experience with applications of engineering technology, interior design materials and construction methods, including sustainable materials.

Able to prepare construction documents and create design concepts/documentation with advanced knowledge of detailing for interior construction; ability to draft at good production level.

Complete understanding of working drawing format, and sense of design, color, texture and scale.

Resourcefulness in researching sources of fabrics, furniture, designs elements, etc.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and the MS Office suite.

Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, or comparable 3D presentation software.
Education
-
Bachelor’s Degree and / or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from accredited school.

License/ Professional certifications – CID, IIDA, NCIDQ State Architect or comparable license or certification preferred. LEED AP preferred.
